ISI inspection report recognised our commitment to excellence in education.
We are delighted to announce our exceptional achievement in the latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection. The comprehensive report showcases the school's dedication to providing an outstanding educational experience for its pupils. We achieved the highest possible rating.
The ISI inspection, conducted by a team of experienced professionals, evaluated all aspects of Chigwell School's operations, including academic achievement, teaching quality, pastoral care, and overall effectiveness. Inspectors noted several strengths of the school: “Academic attainment is excellent, and pupils make excellent progress as they move through the school” while the report continues “pupils demonstrate excellent self-confidence and self-understanding.”
Along with excellent academic results, we pride ourselves on being a supportive and nurturing school with excellent pastoral care and this was recognised when the inspectors observed excellent examples of mentoring towards younger pupils. They commented that “pupils make wise decisions and speak enthusiastically about the support they received from adults” and “pupils are confident decision-makers and relish the opportunities to direct their own learning.”
Chigwell School's dedication to holistic education was another standout feature, with inspectors applauding the focus on pastoral care that we believe nurtures the well-being and personal growth of each student. The report highlighted the strong sense of community and inclusivity fostered at Chigwell School, where students are encouraged to develop their character, resilience, and leadership skills through a wide range of extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
Damian King, Head of Chigwell School, expressed his pride and gratitude for the exceptional outcome of the inspection. "To receive Excellent ratings for both pupils’ achievements and personal development is a testament to the hard work, engagement, and enthusiasm of our pupils, the dedication of our talented staff, and the unwavering support of our parent community. We are immensely proud to receive this recognition of our commitment to excellence in education”.
The excellent ISI inspection report has further solidified Chigwell School's position as a leading educational institution in the region. With a rich history spanning nearly 400 years, we continue to provide a nurturing environment where each pupil can thrive academically, socially, and personally, preparing them for success in their future endeavours.
